My personal motto has been “Nothing is forever except change” for a reason: I’ve spent 20+ years rebuilding, redesigning, and reinventing things for a living — websites, brands, campaigns — and I’ve done the same to myself more than once.

The Short Version

I’m the founder of Design Ollin, a boutique digital marketing agency I started in 2009. I build websites, run social media, write emails people actually open, and manage ad campaigns — for small businesses and nonprofits who need agency-level work without agency-level overhead.

Based in Austin, Texas. Fully bilingual — English and Spanish — because half my clients think in one and half in the other, and I don’t want either group waiting on a translation.

The Longer Version

I’ve been doing this since before “digital marketing” was a job title people put on LinkedIn. My path began over 20 years ago, when the internet was still finding its voice, and since then I’ve worn almost every hat in the building: creative director, webmaster, social media producer, marketing coordinator, IT support, and — for a stretch — the person keeping a 150-person company intranet running and HIPAA-compliant.

I’ve built websites for media companies, energy firms, healthcare organizations, and community health nonprofits. I’ve managed multichannel campaigns for a dozen-plus clients at once and still answered my own support tickets.

What that adds up to: I don’t hand your project off to an account manager who hands it to a designer who hands it to a developer. I am the discovery call, the strategy, the design, the build, and the person who answers when something breaks after launch.

My Approach

I believe effective digital marketing is about more than following trends or applying cookie-cutter solutions. Every business has its own story, challenges, and goals — so I take the time to understand each client’s needs before building a strategy that delivers real, measurable results. Being bilingual doesn’t just help me communicate; it brings a multicultural perspective that often surfaces fresh angles on old marketing problems.

Beyond the Work

This site started as a side project — a place for the photography, the travel, the sunsets and gallery openings, and everything else that doesn’t fit on a client-facing agency page. That’s still here. El Cisco is the person; Design Ollin is the business, with its own home at designollin.com. Keeping them separate is on purpose.

What’s Next

As a founder, I felt the need to step back from the agency model and work with small businesses one-on-one — that’s where El Cisco comes in. Design Ollin will come back someday. In the meantime, I’ve got five other projects coming in the next year.
